How do I create an account?

Download the app and open it. Enter your mobile phone number, verify the OTP sent to that number, then set up your shop name and business type. The entire process takes under 3 minutes - no email or password needed.

Does the app work without internet?

Yes - completely. All core features including transactions, inventory, customer credit, and reports work fully offline. Internet is only used for OTP verification during sign-in and optional cloud backup.

How do I get started with Hisab Expert?

Download Hisab Expert from the Google Play Store and sign up with just your phone number - no credit card required. You can start using it right away. Any changes to pricing are always communicated clearly in-app before they take effect.

Can I use it in Hindi?

Yes. Hisab Expert fully supports Hindi and 8 other Indian languages: Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Tamil, and Telugu. Change the language in Settings at any time.

How does UPI auto-detection work?

Hisab Expert reads payment notifications from popular UPI apps using Android's NotificationListenerService. When a payment is received, the app detects the amount and creates a draft transaction automatically. It never reads your SMS messages - only visible app notifications.

Can I add transactions via voice?

Yes. Go to the Inventory screen and tap the microphone icon. Say the product name, price, and quantity - for example "Soap twenty rupees five pieces". The app parses and fills the fields automatically. Voice entry works fully offline.

How do I export my data?

Go to Settings → Export Data. You can export transactions and inventory as a CSV file (compatible with Excel and Google Sheets) or as a JSON file for a complete data backup.

How do I link employees?

Go to Settings → Manage Employees → Add Employee. Set a name and employee code for each team member. Employees log in using their unique code and can record transactions and check inventory - without access to your financial settings or full reports.

Where is my data stored?

All your data is stored locally on your device in an AES-256 encrypted database. Cloud sync is optional - you must enable it in Settings. Without cloud sync, your data never leaves your phone.

Can Hisab Expert access my bank accounts?

No. Hisab Expert has no access to your bank accounts, payment apps, or financial accounts of any kind. UPI detection only reads notification text from UPI apps - it cannot initiate transactions or access balances.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. All your data - transactions, products, and customer records - will be permanently deleted within 7 days. You can also submit a deletion request from our Data Deletion page.

Why is UPI auto-detection not recording my payments?

Check these three things: (1) Go to Settings → Notification Access and confirm Hisab Expert is enabled. (2) Disable battery optimisation for the app - go to Android Settings → Battery → App Battery Usage → Hisab Expert → Unrestricted. (3) Confirm your UPI app sends visible notifications when payments are received.

What Android version does the app require?

Android 7.0 (Nougat, API level 24) or above. The app is tested on Android 7 through Android 14. Minimum 1 GB RAM and 50 MB free storage are required.

How do I move data to a new phone?

Enable cloud sync in Settings before switching phones. Your data will automatically restore on the new device when you log in with the same phone number. If you did not have cloud sync enabled, contact support - we may be able to help recover data from a device backup.
