Sharma Kirana

Sharma's kirana shop sits on a busy lane in East Delhi, sandwiched between a tailor and a mobile repair stall. During peak hours - morning before office and evening after school - the queue stretches out the door. Customers pay with cash and various UPI apps. Before Hisab Expert, Sharma had a simple but exhausting routine: after every UPI payment he would pick up his phone, open the banking app, confirm the money arrived, and scribble the amount next to the customer's name in his register. In a rush, he would skip the check and promise himself he'd reconcile later. “Later” sometimes never came, and small amounts would vanish into the gap between memory and paper.

The turning point was a Rs 1,200 payment from a regular customer that Sharma could not find in his records. The customer insisted he had paid via UPI, and the transaction history proved it. Sharma had simply missed the notification while weighing rice for another buyer. That same week a friend who runs a pharmacy in Laxmi Nagar showed him Hisab Expert's auto UPI feature. Sharma installed the app that evening and linked his UPI app notifications. The next morning, the first UPI payment of the day appeared in the app within seconds - amount, sender, and time - with no action required from him.

Within two weeks Sharma had also moved his credit customers into the app. He tracks over 60 families who buy on a monthly tab, mostly household staples like atta, oil, and dal. Each purchase is logged with a tap, and at the end of the month the app generates a clean summary he sends directly to the customer on WhatsApp. Collections improved almost immediately - customers found it harder to dispute a clear, itemised digital statement than a scrawled notebook entry.

Today Sharma exports a monthly sales report from the app and shares it with his brother who handles the accounts. He has not lost a single UPI payment since switching to Hisab Expert - a streak he mentions with visible pride. The register still lives next to the weighing scale, but it is mostly used now for jotting down wholesale orders. For everything else, the phone handles it.
